Val stood in the formation of troops. Waiting for the inevitable battle that would take place in just a few hours. The Quyithin Kingdom was being attacked by the evil overlord of Wiethral known as the Shade King. He has been the king of Wiethral for over three centuries and every a tempt to assassinate him has failed. He is called the shade king for his ability to disappear in the shadows and then reappear somewhere else and strike his opponent down. He carries with him a special weapon that the Warlock masters crafted for him out of magic. Any that are unlucky enough to have this weapon strike them will suffer eternal damnation to the underworld.
Val carried his own special weapon, a sword his father had given him just before his death. Val knew nothing about the sword except that it would serve him well, according to his father. After a few battles with it, Val had suffered either none or very small injuries. Val began to trust his life to the sword and cared for it more then his own life, he knew there was something more to this sword, but he could not say what and he had no clue when he would find out more about it. However, for now he would once again trust his life to the sword in the upcoming battle. Their army was far outnumbered compared to the Shade King’s army, there were so many of them that you could not see a single speck of ground where they crossed just thousands and thousands of soldiers marching in unison, heading towards the Quyithin Citadel.
Now Val and the rest of the Quyithin army was the only thing that stood between the Shade King and the fall of the Quyithin Kingdom. Val would fight with all of his might to halt the enemy and destroy them. However, there was just one problem, they knew of the vastness of the enemy army, but what they didn’t know about was what made up that army, and the secret army that was comprised of Karathis, a vicious creature that could break an ogre in half. The secret army was heading for something different. They were going to capture the rich city of Cealio.
Val stood ready, sword by his side he would fight to the death if it means the safety of the king. He hoped his comrades felt the same way about it as he did.
