Maistrom sat in his jail cell, waiting for the guards to come back and get him, it had been weeks since they found out his parents were mutants. They came to his house one night breaking down the door grabbing his mom and dad and throwing him against the wall knocking him unconscious. When he woke up he found himself in a prison he demanded to see his parents but they wouldn’t let him. “I want to see my parents now, you can’t do this, we did nothing wrong!” He said yelling at the guard.
“Sit down, and yes you did do something wrong, you were born, born a mutant, and now you will pay for your crime.” The guard stated coldly.
“I am not a mutant! Now let me see my par…AHHH!!” The guard had shocked him with his taser.
“That should shut you up.”
Maistrom lay there on the ground, but not unconscious like the guard thought, something happened when he was shocked, it was like instead of the shocking him he absorbed the electricity. Now if he could only figure out how he did it and how to use it to hurt the guard. He sat up and looked at the guard and started to think of how he might use this new power of his. He ran his hand through his brown hair thinking, how, what can I do with this power. Then he took a shoot at an idea that just popped into his head. He pointed his hand at the guard, who still thought Maistrom was unconscious, and concentrated on him, he could feel the electricity flowing in him he then made it all go into one place, his hand. Next he tried to force it out of him, he sat there staring at the guard his blue eyes concentrating on him and his mind focusing on the electricity in his body, trying to make all of it go to his hands, but nothing happened. He stood up and stared down at his hand, “why didn’t it work,” he said wondering to himself, but the guard heard him.
“Oh I see you’re a wake, well we’ll just have to make it certain that next time you won’t wake up as soon.” The guard then got the taser and pointed it at Maistrom, but he didn’t shock before he turned the power up to its maximum, he then pointed it at Maistrom a pressed the button, but Maistrom was prepared this time, he quickly put up his hands and used his new found powers to absorb the electricity, and as he was doing this his already blue eyes started to glow even more blue. The guard quickly turned off the taser and then stared at Maistrom, “see I knew you were a mutant, now you’ll pay for using your powers near me.” The guard opened the cell door and drew his baton and approached Maistrom. The guard was well over six feet tall and Maistrom was only a few inches from him, but the guard was strong and the baton was metal.
“Don’t fail me now powers,” he said to himself as he started to concentrate again. This time he could feel even more electricity in him, and it was easier to gather it all up in one area. This time his power was working he could feel it gathering in his hand, and when he thought he had enough gathered he released it from his hand, electricity shoot from his hand and into the guard knocking the guard back and into the wall. Maistrom stopped using his powers and went over to the guard.
“I want you to tell me were my parents are NOW!!!” he shouted in the man’s face.
“I don’t know honest, after we’re done with them here he ship them to a science facility with all the other mutants.” He said dazed from the shock.
“Where is this facility and what do they do to them there.”
“I don’t know where it is and it’s a science facility what do you think they do to them…they study them,” he said after seeing Maistrom had no idea.
“Are there any more mutants in this prison.”
“Yes, but you can’t release them without the proper codes and then you can only use them in the main security area.”
“There’s got to be people in cells like me, well isn’t there?” he asked the guard wasn’t paying much attention.
“I plan to rescue my parents and to destroy the facility and every facility or prison that holds mutants, and if we are hunted then let them come and try to stop us.” Maistrom said smiling and then walked off.
“Well yes there are but usually those are the people who don’t have powers.”
“You thought I didn’t have powers and look what happen, there could be people down here who have gifts like me and just don’t know about it yet,” He said straitening up, he had been hunched over talking to the guard. “I’ll find them and rescue them and then see if they will help me to rescue the others.”
“Then what, what will you do after you rescue them, even if you manage to pull off a rescue mission in a highly guarded prison, you’ll all be hunted the rest of your lives,” the guard said smiling.
