OOC: This story is incomplete, I will update it as soon as I can.
Prologue
In ancient times there was a race called by the overseers the elementals. They could control, harness, and create the elements. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, these were the powers of the elementals, and the kings, rulers, emperors, and overseers of empires, and kingdoms would use them in times of war, but there were a few who did not want to fight for the cause of another and betrayed their ruler. When this happened the ruler of the land would have to hunt the elemental down before the others joined him, for if the elementals joined together and fought together they could bring down an entire empire. Such an event happened long ago, an elemental by the name of Gallock rose up against his ruler, the ruler failed to hunt him down swiftly. As Gallock made his way across the land, more elementals heard of him and then started to follow. Soon Gallock had a small, but powerful militia. He soon started to train them in secret, spreading the word to other elementals while doing so. His small militia crew into a potent army, as more elementals joined the more his army grew, but his army was not big enough to take on the substantial might of the southern empire, for if he wanted to eradicate the empire he would have to sway more people to join his army. Therefore, he, and his rising army set out to seek the help of those who despise the southern empire. Many came to him, people from different races, humans, elves, centaurs, dwarves, and all sorts of flying creatures, from dragons to phoenixes, and everything in between. Finally, after years of building, Gallock finally had his own imposing army. He could finally take his revenge on the empire that took everything from him.
As he organized his army, however he could see that they were not ready to battle. The different races argued endlessly over diminutive things, they were not disciplined, and the commanders could not maintain order in their group. Gallock knew that if they were to ride into battle like this they would be destroyed effortlessly by the might of the emperors military. He personally trained the commanders and officers, and then he and the ones he trained, trained the army. They soon formed regiments, and then battalions in the regiments. As the soldiers trained, Gallock looked for people who could fabricate siege weapons, craft weaponry, and armor, and treat the wounded. It took him a while, but when he returned to his army, he had found the engineers, blacksmiths, and doctors. After years of training, building, and preparation, his magnificent army was ready to face the enemy in battle. Gallock gave his men a week to respite, pack up and get ready to depart. When they were ready, the men assembled into their regiments and then their battalions. The commanders of the battalions took their positions and the colonels of each regiment took their spots among the knights. Gallock got onto his horse and gathered with his Calvary he then turned and faced his men.
“The war we start will bring an end to the tyranny that has plagued this land for centuries, we shall defeat the armies of the south and then the west then the east shall feel our might. Finally we will show the north, the most powerful kingdom in the land the strength of a true power, but I won’t lie to you there will be many casualties, but you die for a magnificent cause to alleviate the world of tyranny and death.” After his speech, his men gave a thunderous cheer, which could be heard miles away. The army started its long march to the south the Calvary on the sides the foot soldiers in the middle and the archers and siege weaponry in back.
When battle came the Elvin archers moved forward and the foot soldiers moved back, the siege weapons prepared to fire. Once in range the trebuchets and catapults fired massive boulders of fire onto the enemy, causing fear among the enemy knights, once the enemy was closer the Elvin archers shot flaming arrows on them, when they all fired at once the sky would light up a bright orange from so many arrows. The archers continued firing until the enemy was getting to close then they moved back and the foot soldiers moved up. While all this was going on Gallock and his Calvary rod through the dark woods hidden by the trees from the enemy, they would flank them when the time came. When the enemy was to close for the artillery, the foot soldiers would get ready to do battle. The pike men were in front, they carried a large spear that was taller than the tallest man, and a shield, if they lost those they had a short sword, the pike men would put there pikes down towards the enemy. The razor sharp point at the end made sure no one got through, but if they did they would have to face the fury of the elementals and others races, the knights, wielding anything from a two handed sword to a war hammer. Gallock watched the battle from the woods waiting for the perfect moment to strike. After waiting for some time he saw it, the enemy was to concerned about breaking through the regiment of pike men to that they forgot to guard there flank. “This is the moment,” Gallock said to himself. He then turned to his men, “ready your selves…I’ll send the signal in a moment.” Gallock said to his men. He then stuck his hand into the air, a ball of flame formed in his hand; he was an elemental of fire. Once it was big, enough he hurled it into the sky, once it got to a certain height the ball of flame erupted lighting the whole sky up. The enemy commanders saw it, but it was to late before they could do anything both regiments of Calvary charged the flank of the enemy army. The Calvary smashed through them killing many, the enemy was boxed in, they could not retreat from the back and could not penetrate the front and the sides were closing in with Knights. The mighty army of Gallock was now destroying the once grand Army of the south.
Soon after the south’s defeat at the battle Gallock took control, then he recruited any one who wanted to join his army. He even went so far as to ask the once enemy knights that his army fought against. Many joined, and many scowled when asked by the knights, but they were not harmed. Gallock gave strict orders to treat the people of the kingdom nicer than their king did. He did not want to make people he just became ruler of mad and have an uprising so soon.
After getting, everything settled in the south Gallock organized his even superior army to march to the west. He followed the same tactic changing it somewhat, and concurred the west. When he settled there and prepared his army once more he heard news of the east and north becoming allies. His army was big but it could not compare to size of the army the north and east would have if they really had joined forces. When the two armies met it was the battle of the century. It was the most tiring battle any one had ever fought, the hardest, longest, most tiring battle ever in the land of Kailen. Gallock’s army was out numbered ten to one, but he thought of strategy that in his mind would defeat any army. Both sides were taking heavy loses the army of the allies were big, but could not compare to the genius of Gallock or his strong elementals who were battling very hard. The battle went on for weeks and Gallock’s supplies were dwindling down, while the enemies was staying the same, he had to do something and fast. He thought if he could lay siege to the castle he could win. Therefore, he made one last effort to obliterate the army, but met no success. He finally began his siege on the castle, it was going slowly, and it had made little damage to the heavily fortified castle. Gallock saw that the only to win the battle while he still had supplies was to attack the castle head on. This would be no easy task, the castle was heavily defended. When he began his army was falling fast to the defense of the castle, but he knew if he could get in, he could win. The fighting at the gate was a brutal one the enemy was dropping boiling oil on the knights below and the archers were firing on them through little slots in the wall. Gallock was intent on getting through that he made the same mistake the south did, he did not guard his flank and the enemy took advantage of that. They took the army by surprise and smashed the army quickly. Gallock saw his fatal error and called for a full retreat. His army disappeared and the north and east took control of the south and west. Forming two kingdoms the northern one called Wystran, and the eastern one called Gigen.
The land has been at peace for years now, no one knows what happened to Gallock, some say he settled down and started a family others say he went mad after his defeat and took his own life. Whatever the truth may be the world will probably never know. Nevertheless, there is a new terror in the world; demons from another land have invaded the land rampaging through everything. The two nations are doing everything they can to stop the invasion, but they have never fought anything like this, and while all this mess is going on a new ruler in the east is trying to seek ultimate power over everything.
Story
Maistrom was out hunting for food with his dad, Valshon, it was almost dark and they had not seen anything all day. Maistrom’s dad was an elemental and so was his mother, his father was a fire elemental and his mother was an earth elemental. He did not know what he was; he had not shown anything that told he was an elemental. They lived on the edge of a forest in the east; Maistrom was a fine swords man, and an exceptional archer. He stood about “5” “8”, taller than his dad, and was skinny, but fast, what he lacked in strength he made up for in speed. His dark blue eyes seemed to stare at the souls of all who looked at him and who he looked at. His brown hair covered his ears, but was not very long.
“We’ve been out here all day, moms going to be mad if we come back empty handed,” Maistrom said searching the forest for any sign of life.
“I know I know, believe you me I’m the last person that wants to return home and face your mother with empty hands.” Maistrom’s dad replied in his deep voice.
Maistrom only laughed, his mother and father always fought over little things. He was still searching for any sign of life, even a rabbit would do Maistrom thought to himself. His stomach was agreeing with him as it growled, they were just about to head home when Maistrom spotted something moving in the brush. “Father over there and the brush…something moved,” Maistrom said in a soft voice pointing over to the brush that had moved. His dad picked up a rock and motioned Maistrom to ready an arrow. When Maistrom was ready his dad threw the rock at the brush, it the brush and a small rabbit started to leap away, but Maistrom was following it with his arrow and when he had the perfect shot he let the arrow go. It was a shot that would have made any Elvin archer proud, the arrow whizzed through the air going strait at the rabbit. Just as the rabbit made another leap, the arrow struck it in the neck. The rabbit fell to the ground; it was dead when Maistrom reached it.
“That was the best shot I have ever seen you make, good job son.” His dad said to him as he picked the rabbit up.
“Thanks, you really thank so,” Maistrom said with his soft quiet voice that he always had, and watched his dad pull the arrow out of the rabbit’s neck.
“Yes. Now lets head back and not keep your mother waiting any longer,” his father said handing Maistrom the arrow and then turning and began to walk away. Maistrom only smiled and ran to catch up with his father.
As they got near the end of the forest Maistrom could see his house, but as they got closer, he saw other men were there. “Father why are there other men at the house we weren’t expecting anyone today were we?” Maistrom asked concern in his voice.
“No…we weren’t.” Is the only thing his father said. When they got closer, Maistrom saw that the men were Knights from the Gigen military.
“Why are knights from the military here?” Maistrom asked but Maistrom never heard the answer, he saw his mother being dragged out by her hair by a couple of knights. He began to run towards her but his father held him back.
“What are you doing there hurting her, we need to go help her.” Maistrom said with a plea to let him go.
“What to you plan to do… attack a group of highly trained Knights in heavy armor, and swords when you’re in hunting clothes with a hunting bow, you’ll be killed easily?” His father looked down at him his face serious.
“I…I don’t know what I’ll do, but I can’t sit here and watch them hurt mom, and neither can you and you know it.” Maistrom said trying to get lose of his fathers grip.
“I know that why you’re going to stay here while I go see what’s going on.” His father said loosening his grip. He started to walk towards the Knights. Maistrom watched wanting to be by his father’s side. The knights spotted him, and ran towards him. When they reached him, they stopped him. Maistrom could just barely hear what they were saying.
“Emperor Frederick III here by places you under arrest Gallock, for the many deaths you caused, you are to be executed by General Saudry.” The knight said and as he finished another knight stepped out from the house; this knight was in glamour’s armor, and carried a two handed sword that had ancient runes engraved in it. “I am Saudry.” A womanly voice came from the helm. “And I see that your Gallock…and that must be your wife…and that over there must be your son.” She said looking over at Maistrom. Maistrom froze he didn’t know what he should do, but before he could do anything Saudry had sent knights out to get him, and before he could convince his legs to run the knights had grabbed him. They took him back to Saudry, who looked at him and then back at Gallock.
“We are ordered to kill you, and your family, I will let you say your good byes to each other though.” Is all Saudry said, and then turned around and walked back inside.
The knights were keeping a very close watch on all of them and Maistrom guessed why, his mother and father were elementals and they didn’t know if he was or not. After ten minutes Saudry came back outside, the knights grabbed his father put his head on a tree stump and before Maistrom could do anything Saudry brought down her two handed sword on his fathers neck. Maistrom yelled out and tried to get away, but the knight who held on him did not let lose he just tightened his grip. Next the knights put his mother head on the stump bloodied by his fathers blood, he could see tears going down his mothers cheek, but she didn’t yell out once even when Saudry brought the sword down upon her neck. Maistrom yelled out again tears going down his cheek, he felt something inside of him, like a flying sensation he couldn’t figure it out, but it kept getting more forceful. The knight started to bring him forward, the site of his mother and fathers blood and bodies angered him even more. The sensation got stronger, and then all at once forceful winds erupted from his hands, he did not think about it he just turned around and swayed his hands in an upward motion brining them back down; a strong wind hit the Knight that was holding him. The knight flew back hitting a tree. The others knights made a jump for Maistrom, Maistrom just made more wind sending the knights flying threw the air. He started to do it again but then something happened he began to feel feeble, exhausted, out of energy. He could not make any more wind; he turned and started to run back into the forest, he picked up his bow an arrow when he passed them. Maistrom knew that if he could get into the forest he could lose them, and he was right once he got in the forest he hid the knights searched forever, but never found him. Finally leaving the forest the knights headed back to Maistrom’s house. Maistrom watched from the trees as the knights went into his house and ransacked everything finally leaving once they took everything they wanted, then they threw a torch on the roof and left. Maistrom watched his house, the place he was born in and lived in all his life burn to the ground.
Maistrom slowly made his way through the forest, he knew there was a village on the other side, and Maistrom and his father would go there to buy supplies. Tears started to fall down Maistrom’s cheek, just thinking about his father brought him sadness like he never felt. All Maistrom had now was the clothes on his back, his short sword, and his bow and arrows. When he reached the other side, he could see the small village out in the distance. He started to walk along the road keeping close watch all around him observing anyone who came close to him and keeping his hand on his short sword. He was still very tired from using his newfound powers like he did, but once he got to town he would find a place to rest. Maistrom would get revenge on Saudry and the empire that has tormented so many families for years. If he had to spend his whole life on getting his revenge then he would.
